Sri Ganesa, in the boon-conferring posture, the Siddhi Vinayaka, is the presiding deity of the Ashram of Bodhananda Seva Society in Tiruvananthapuram. The MahaGanesa Sahasra Kalasa Abhishekha was performed leading to the Pratishta (installation of the deity) in the Ashram premises.The elaborate events started on 4th December 2000 and concluded on the 6th December 2000 with the installation of the deity according to the Tantric rituals.

H.H.Swami Bodhananda was the Mukhya Acharya of the great event,
and Brahmasree Sankara Narayana Sarma the chief priest.

The MahaGanesa SahasraKalasaAbhishekha (anointation with 1001 sacred Pots) was performed as per the Tantra Sastra so as to augment the divine power of the Pratishta (deity) by purification rites. A 1001 Kalasaas containing 'Padya', 'Arghya', 'Achama' and other Panchavimsati Dravya (materials) were arranged in Brahma, Daivika (divine) and Manusha (human) Khanda (segment) as per Tantric prescription.

After the performance of the Puja according to the Sastraic prescription, with the Vadhyagosha (divine sound of musical instruments) in the background, the Siddhi Vinayaka Murthy, the Bestower of boons and the One without beginning or end, was given Abhishekha (anointation) at the right Muhurtta (auspicious time).

Events of the Three Days:
Day One:
Acharya Varanam: H.H.Swami Bodhananda was the Mukhya Acharya, presiding over for the fine conclusion of the event.

Vastu Suddhi Kriya: This ritual (Homa and Bali) is meant for the cleaning of the building, the premises and the air around the sanctum sanctorum, to remove all known and unknown spirits from the surrounding, and give them all rights and respects.

Day Two:
Maha Ganapati Havanam: This ritual is to invoke the Maha Ganapati (Aavahana) and make His presence around through the offerings of Ishta Dravya (desired materials of the deity). After the completion of Aavahana the Brahma Kalasa Puja, the most important of the 1001 Kalasaas, is performed. The other 1000 Kalasaas are called Pari Kalasa. The other rituals were Parikalasa Puja, Adhivasa Puja and Adhivasa Homa . By the Adhivasa Puja and Homa the spirits of Devi and Deva and Maanusha are given due respects and offerings. In the night Sayana Puja was performed and the Kalasaas kept covered.

Day Three:
Usha Puja and Maha Ganesa Pratishta: By these rituals the deity of Siddhi Vinayaka was installed in the temple. After the installation of the deity, the Sahasra Kalasa Abhishekha, anointation by the 1001 Kalasaas was performed, marking the grand finale of the elaborate ceremony.
